About AIS Region 1
The Mission of The American Iris Society (AIS) is to organize and disseminate knowledge of the genus Iris, while fostering its preservation, enjoyment and continued development. AIS provides information on irises of all types, including comprehensive information about the variables of growing irises in different terrains and climates. AIS works closely with all affiliates, sections, cooperating societies, and other national and international societies to support the conservation and protection of all irises, including existing wild and cultivated species.
AIS Region 1 includes: all of New England (Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island) as well as the Canadian provinces of: Newfoundland/Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.
